Seventy-five years ago this month, television made its U.S. public debut at the 1939 World's Fair in Flushing Meadows.
Since that day -- April 30, to be exact -- we have gotten to know (and love, and hate) so many, many characters. With that in mind, TV critic Verne Gay selected and ranked his 75 greatest characters of all time.
