A sequel to the Bible?! There is one, or at least will be one, on TV and NBC has it. The network-in-short-supply-of-hits has ordered the sequel to Mark Burnett and Roma Downey's History Channel adaptation that aired in March and collected the biggest crowd (13 million for the first installment) on cable so far this year.
The prequel is called "A.D.: Beyond the Bible," which -- thankfully -- is a working title only.
Here's how NBC describes the series which doesn't have an airdate yet:
And this is all based on...? NBC doesn't quite say. But NBC Entertainment chief Bob Greenblatt said, in part, "This will be attention-getting in every way, and we’re proud to continue our association with Mark which has just grown exponentially from "The Voice.’”
