The lowdown on Bachelorette's J.P.

Roslyn's J.P. Rosenbaum is considered the front-runner on ABC's "The Bachelorette" on ABC Credit: ABC
In reality-TV circles, the Internet buzz over Roslyn's J.P. Rosenbaum, considered the front-runner on ABC's "The Bachelorette," has become too loud for the show's Long Island fans to ignore -- especially since noted reality-TV pundit Steve Carbone, a.k.a. Reality Steve, began insisting on June 1 that Rosenbaum is the winner, and "Entertainment Tonight: Canada" a few days ago showed Rosenbaum and bachelorette Ashley Hebert separately leaving the same store in New York.
So who is J.P., other than a 34-year-old construction manager, as ABC has described? Public records and other sources indicate that Jordan Paul Rosenbaum, the son of Ilene K. and Peter S. Rosenbaum, graduated in 1995 from Herricks High School in New Hyde Park, where during his senior year he was the among the Boys Lacrosse All-Conference A High School All-Stars. He then attended the University of Michigan, in Ann Arbor.
He has a Twitter page under the name "crazyscooter" and a Cingular Wireless cellphone registered to a West 23rd Street address in Manhattan. And for some reason, the Construction Management Association of America listed a J.P. Rosenbaum as a student member in 2005.
ABC declined to make Rosenbaum available for comment.
Carbone has a good track record, though his last two "Bachelor" predictions were off. And it may not matter, if the July 11 print edition of OK! magazine is to be believed: It says Rosenbaum has already broken up with Hebert.
The series finale is scheduled for Aug. 1.
