Thia Megia lets loose (a bit) on 'American Idol'

Adorable Thia Megia is up next on "American Idol" singing "Heat Wave." It's a good choice for her voice. 

Whoa, big voice from the get-go. It's the right tone for this, sounds Motowny, like you're listening to a vintage record. She's swallowing the end of her lines a bit, but she has good energy, and a good performance. Not wowed, but better than she's been. Wish she'd let loose a little more, too.

Jennifer Lopez is like, "OK, OK -- we're scratching the surface a bit with you . . . who knew you had that in you?!" Wants her to act more, so she can connect better. It's a good point.

Randy Jackson likes that she took a chance, but also wants her to pick it up even more -- "push, push!" Steven Tyler says, "Just great, I'm good with it."

She can be even better. She just needs to trust herself more.
