Travis Garland sings "Believe" on 'American Idol,' we're told that "he's better than Justin Timberlake" by the dude who 'discovered' him.

Stage is suddenly filled with teens, he comes out in the middle of them, with his spiky hair and black vest and boots.

'Idol' annoyingly splits the screen into three for most of his frenetic, herky-jerky performance. Interesting to watch, but he doesn't have much of a voice, seems to rely on sudden flashes of movement to keep our attention, like a snake's tongue.

Really, his voice is buried behind the drum line; it's thin and nothing memorable.
