Trump, Huckabee make the TV rounds
The season has begun -- the election season, with TV opening its doors to those who would be king. Two major interviews of note -- Trump this morning on "Today" and Huckabee last night on "The Daily Show." The Trumpster one was quite amazing: I'm pretty sure I've never ever seen a candidate say he can't declare until the show he's headlines -- the reality entertainment show -- is off the air, which also happens to be the same air of the network he is being interviewed on.
In other words, did Trumpster and "Today" actually sneak in a full five-minute promo for "Celebrity Apprentice" this morning? Maybe, but of greater interest -- what Trump said. He's a full-fledged tea partyer and Birther and came after the president hard -- saying that "two or three weeks ago" he actually sorta believed he was born in the United States and now, he's not so sure. Reality check! Two or three weeks ago!? Trumpster has been saying this for months. Also, not included in this clip -- Trump says the United States should take over the Mideast oil fields because if we don't someone like Iran will. But it is an interesting interview, and this one should resonate big time with supporters.
Second, Mike Huckabee on "Daily." This is a much longer one, and I've posted only the first clip and the third, where he talks about Beck, and other matters. As always, it's a terrific interview, and a thoughtful, completely unlike the sound bite parade on "Today."
