USA Network has ordered a pilot episode for a true-crime miniseries covering the murders of rappers Tupac Shakur and Biggie Smalls, reports Newsday contributor Frank Lovece.
The network said Thursday that “Unsolved” would be directed by Anthony Hemingway, director and executive producer of FX’s “The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story,” and written by Kyle Long, the executive story editor of “Suits.” The script would be based on the experiences of former Los Angeles police detective Greg Kading, author of “Murder Rap: The Untold Story of the Biggie Smalls & Tupac Shakur Murder Investigations by the Detective Who Solved Both Cases.”
