Just an interesting side-note to something that could have a huge impact one day on TV viewers everywhere — or at least an impact on Nancy Grace: Federal courtrooms are allowing cameras in some states as part of an experiment.

Starts today. Cameras have been banned in federal courtrooms since 1946 ... and as you know, there have been quite a few interesting and TV-worthy trials in federal courtrooms over those many years. The three-year experiment will allow cameras in trial courts in Alabama, California, Florida, Guam, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Massachusetts, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio, Tennessee and Washington.  No — sorry — not in New York.
