TV on DVD: 'Andy Kaufman,' 'I Love Lucy'

Before his untimely death at age 35 in 1984, Andy Kaufman made a name for himself as an eccentric comedian appearing on shows including "Saturday Night Live," "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson" and "Van Dyke and Company." He is best known for his role as "Latka Gravas" on "Taxi," which he played alongside fellow Long Islander and Malverne High School graduate, Tony Danza. Credit: Handout
ANDY KAUFMAN: WORLD INTER-GENDER WRESTLING CHAMPIONContent Great Neck's late comic lightning rod reached his performance art zenith in these are-they-a-joke-or-aren't-they bouts vs. women. Launched in 1979 on "Saturday Night Live" (concurrent with his "Taxi" stint), Kaufman's deliberately provocative ring exploits were dramatized in Jim Carrey's 1999 biopic "Man on the Moon." This hourlong chronicle collects full matches from syndicated wrestling telecasts, vintage locker room hype, reminiscences by pals, "rabid hate mail" and an endearingly sincere interview in which Kaufman explains his carnival homage.
