Vince Vaughn, CBS team for 'Brady Bunch' redo

Everything's suddenly coming up Brady at CBS, which has two projects in development tied to one of the most durable franchises in pop culture history: "The Brady Bunch."

Vince Vaughn's production company has received a "script commitment" from the network for a multicamera sitcom, CBS confirmed Tuesday. Both the Hollywood Reporter and Deadline.com said Lloyd Schwartz -- son of Sherwood Schwartz who created and produced the original series that aired from 1969 to 1974 -- would oversee this project. (Lloyd Schwartz was an associate producer on the original ABC series, and went on to produce other "Brady" specials.)

The show, according to trade reports, would be about an adult Bobby Brady (played by Mike Lookinland in the original) as a divorced dad who remarries and has a new blended family. No word on when (or if) this one will go into production, and if it does, Vaughn would not be expected to be cast in it.

Separately, CBS Eye Productions is developing a reality version of "The Brady Bunch," although that show -- if it goes forward -- is expected to be named "Modern Stepfamilies." According to a casting call notice on the producer's website: "Is your family a modern-day 'Brady Bunch' [and] Would you be excited to share with the nation the various challenges of merging households?"

"The Brady Bunch" has been remolded into TV movies, two motion pictures, specials, a 1990 dramatic series and even a short-lived variety series.
