What's this? An 'American Idol' top 25?

So there you have it, America, the Idol top 24. After the semifinalists dance on screen in a quick montage, Ryan Seacrest announces that the judges have decided they need another guy, so we’re going to have a top 25.

No explanation has been given for this latest wrinkle, other than “Idol” loves to change its own rules each season. Then we’re told that either Johnny Keyser, cowboy Richie Law, Jermaine Jones or David Leathers, all of whom got cut, will get the final spot next week.

So did someone drop out? Or will we then get a 13th girl to even things out? Stay tuned and maybe “Idol” will answer those questions.

As if that wasn’t enough of a jaw-dropper, the show closes with Steven Tyler removing all his clothes -- thankfully the “Idol” logo was there to censor his bare buttocks -- and diving into the pool behind where the judges were sitting. I guess Tyler didn’t want the semifinalists to be the only ones making a splash in Vegas.
