Say "yes..." YESYESYES... Maybe if you say "Yes" loud enough and long enough, the trolls of primetime will pay heed and one of the best shows on all of TV will survive the darwinian fate is so richly does not deserve. I'm talking about "Fringe" - original episode tonight called "Stowaway" - if you're completely mystified by this post. Yesterday, I ruminated about its possible fate, but before that piece ever got in the paper, I asked the showrunners - Jeff Pinkner and J.H. Wyman - if they were happy with the Friday move, and how much story-telling had changed, etc. Their response came in long after my deadline and I post it here for you and posterity. Both guys sound very optimistic, and so: I am too. Here's what they said:

“We are very happy with the move.  It seems our entire audience has moved with us, for which we are insanely grateful.  And it has confirmed for us that our fans are as loyal and as passionate as we had suspected (and hoped!!).

"We haven't really changed our approach to the storytelling at all.  Truth is, we found out about the move to Fridays just before it happened - and by that point our season was largely already planned out.  In any case, we don't think a Friday audience is inherently any more adventurous than a Thursday audience -- we just continue to write shows for OUR audience.  Having said that, coincidentally, some of our most adventurous episodes do happen to be at the end of the season.”
