William Petersen is keeping busy after 'CSI'
So what's William L. Petersen, who played "CSI's" heart, Gil Grissom from 2000-09, doing since he left the series as a regular? (He made an uncredited appearance last February and is still listed as an executive producer of the show.) His current projects include two feature films and one TV miniseries:
Detachment
In this indie movie about high-school teachers (filmed at Mineola High School), Petersen plays Sarge, a history teacher and Vietnam vet. The movie premiered at last year's Tribeca Film Festival and opens in theaters March 16.
Seeking a Friend for the End of the World
Petersen is part of the ensemble in this "pre-apocalyptic romantic comedy" starring Steve Carell and Keira Knightley. It opens April 20.
To Appomattox
Petersen will play Gen. William Tecumseh Sherman in this Civil War miniseries that's now in preproduction and targeted for broadcast in 2013.
