Saturday: 'Whitney'

"Whitney" covers the life of Whitney Houston, played by Yaya DaCosta, from the time she met Bobby Brown until the mid-1990s. The Lifetime special premieres Saturday at 8 p.m. Critic Verne Gay says "the best part of 'Whitney' is by far the most important part -- DaCosta's performance. It's full of warmth and passion and an unspoken sense that, three years after Houston's death, what most fans probably want to remember, or do remember, is the Houston life force."

All weekend: 'A Most Violent Year'

"A Most Violent Year" takes place in the crime-ridden New York of 1981 and is the story of an honest CEO attempting to expand his business. Critic Rafer Guzman calls it "a richly detailed if slightly subdued drama about wealth, integrity and the American dream."

All weekend: 'Paddington'

The stuffed bear from the popular 1958 children's book by Michael Bond, "A Bear Called Paddington," comes to life in a movie. "Paddington" provides a backstory to the books about a small bear with excellent manners. "Paddington" hits theaters Friday.

Anytime: Meghan Trainor's 'Title'

Meghan Trainor's debut album "Title" adds to the girl group hip-hop sound that made "All About That Bass" and "Lips Are Movin'" hits. Critic Glenn Gamboa says that this album proves Trainor's no on-hit wonder.
