The first trailer for the "Zero Dark Thirty" was released on Monday, and the Twitterverse was quickly buzzing about the highly-anticipated and controversial film.

"Zero Dark Thirty" tells the story of the United States' 10-year hunt for Osama Bin Laden, and the trailer implies the film will shed some light on how Navy SEALS caught the al-Qaeda terrorist on May 2, 2011.

The teaser, which is barely more than one minute long, is the first look at Kathryn Bigelow’s film, which some critics have slammed, claiming the Defense Department leaked classified information to the film's producers.

The trailer is sprinkled with dark black marker lines, which mimic the areas one may see crossed out on a classified document.

The film is set to hit theaters Dec. 19.
