Anna Wintour fights to protect her garden

I've just gained a whole new respect for famed Vogue editor Anna Wintour.
When she caught wind of plans to erect an 8-story condo building next to her Greenwich Village townhouse, she protested on the grounds that, among other things, it would shade her community's private garden, according to the NY Post. And she's still pressuring city officials to stop the development, which the report says she called "totally out-of-scale," "inappropriate," and "unwelcome" in a letter to the Landmarks Preservation Commission.
The private garden has existed since the 1920s and was deemed part of the historic district in the '60s. It's reported to be a manicured grassy oasis that includes a walking path amid trees, shrubs and a childrens playhouse.
Granted, this isn't Wintour's private garden. And, granted, she's probably concerned with other impacts the development would have on her property, as well. But could you imagine if your neighbor was planning to build an 8-story building right behind your vegetable patch? Or worse, one that would shade out your entire sun-loving perennial garden?
