The Long Island Rose Society's biggest event of the year -- the annual show at Planting Fields -- runs from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Planting Fields Arboretum State Historic Park in Oyster Bay. This year's theme is "The Enchanted Rose," and lots of different specimens -- hybrid teas, floribundas, old garden roses, shrub roses, etc. -- will be competing for coveted blue ribbons.

Check them out for yourself, and sharpen your senses -- there will even be a competition for most fragrant rose.
