Tuesdays are usually not a popular day to celebrate a wedding. Almost smack in the middle of the week, many people have work and other obligations on the brain. But an annual survey from the wedding dress company David’s Bridal found there will be a spike in the number of weddings taking place on Tuesday, November 12th. The reason? Its iconic date -- 11/12/13.

It’s estimated that more than 2,000 couples in the U.S. will tie the knot on this date, compared to the 371 weddings that were reported on the second Tuesday of November last year. These brides are part of the whopping 40 percent of women who were surveyed by David's Bridal who would consider planning their wedding because of a date that has a special sequence.

So what are brides' reasons for wanting to walk down the aisle on a special date? Perhaps it's a quest for good luck, or maybe just an easy way to get their husbands to remember their anniversary. Another reason might be chalked up to the rarity of a consecutive date; after next year, the next true consecutive date won't be until January 2, 2103.

But if you think those 2,000 couples are crazy for getting married on an iconic date, just wait until next year’s sequential date. There may be an epic increase of weddings happening on Dec. 13, 2014, or 12/13/14, because this date just so happens to  fall on a Saturday.

Now that’s something to party about.
