Dahlias 101 class Thursday at Bayard

Love dahlias but feel a bit intimidated? You're not alone. Those beauties need special care that includes staking and digging up, but have no fear: Experts from the Long Island Dahlia Society are holding a dahlia basics class Thursday at 7 p.m. in the carriage house at Bayard Cutting Arboretum in East Islip.
Admission is free and the class is open to the public. (Take the Southern State Parkway to exit 45E - Montauk Highway east. The entrance is about a half mile down on the right.)
