Diwali celebration in Great Neck
Great Neck's Global Harmony House celebrates its 20th anniversary and Diwali, the Festival of Lights. The festival is part of a global celebration by the Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual Organization.
The Nov. 11 event includes a special message from Sister Mohini Panjabi, spiritual leader of the Brahma Kumaris in the Americas. She is president of Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual Organization, USA, and also serves as regional coordinator for North America, South America, Latin America and the Caribbean.
The festival's purpose is to celebrate each individual's relationship with The Divine. Visitors will be treated to entertainment, a light meal and discussions and testimonials about meditation. "We want everyone to recognize how he or she is a spiritual light," says Sister Anjani Seepersaud, meditation instructor at Global Harmony House. "We want them to experience and understand their relationship with The Divine and their experience of having their inner light ignited."
The nondenominational celebration offers visitors an introduction to Brahma Kumaris and the power of meditation. "People also will have a better understanding of who we are and what we do," Sister Anjani Seepersaud says.
