Kids love the winter. From snowball fights and snow angels to hot chocolate and possible days off from school, what's not to love?
In addition to bundling up and heading into the backyard, there are many fun things to do with your kids all winter long. So to help prevent cabin fever, we asked our Facebook and Twitter fans to share their favorite, family-friendly winter activities on Long Island. Here, 10 indoor and outdoor suggestions for fun things to do with your kids during the winter months.
Parkway Elementary School in East Meadow is great for young kids to go sledding. I usually run into old faces there as well.
-Brian Fahy, Long Beach
Ice skating at the Tanger Outlets in Deer Park and Wood Kingdom. My kids love it there. Also, our local library.
-Maria Gonzalez-Prescod
We went to Pump it Up in Islip and it was awesome! Two hours of fun for $14!
-Kristyna McMahon Acerno, Sayville
How about a trip to your local Michaels store and buy crafts to do at home.
-Julie Millman, Oceanside
I'm not telling -- I don't want it to get even more crowded!
