Do you have a bath time routine for your kids? In my house, my husband and I divide and conquer. One of us will bathe our 3-year-old daughter and the other will bathe our 1-year-old son. This way, we finish bath time quicker and have more time to relax and play with the kids after work.

I recently stumbled upon a few great bath-night tips that I wanted to share. I found them in the September issue of FamilyFun Magazine. Here are five:

Inspire reluctant bathers with a simple homemade toy. Slice a pool noodle into pieces that your child can float and stack.

Turn bathing into a learning game. After she’s soaped up, give your child a plastic container full of water and ask her to help wash the soap off: “Can you pour water on your toes?” “Can you rinse your stomach?”

Let her play scientist. Put together a “lab kit” of plastic measuring cups, funnels, medicine droppers and so on.

Teach her how to get clean. Have your child wash her favorite waterproof doll or toy the same way you wash her.

Shampoo without tears. Help keep suds out of your child’s eyes with a foam visor. You can also put removeable stickers on the wall for her to look up at when it’s time to rinse. “Can you find the purple dinosaur?”
