Anti-bully movie 'Contest' to premiere on Cartoon Network

An unlikely friendship develops between a bully and his victim in a new Cartoon Network movie “Contest,” premiering at 6 p.m. Oct. 6.
The cable network’s drama is timed to National Bullying Prevention Month, which is in October.
Following the two-hour drama, there will be a live question-and-answer session at StopBullyingSpeakUp.com with author Rosalind Wiseman, one of the advisers to the network’s Stop Bullying: Speak Up Campaign.
“Contest” stars rising young actors and actresses Kenton Duty, Daniel Flaherty and Katherine McNamara.
“'Contest' is the story of Tommy, who just wants to avoid trouble, and Matt, who discovers that being a bully isn't being true to himself, says Alice Cahn, Cartoon Network vice president of social responsibility. “It's also a story of courage — that speaking up is what you do when faced with bullying, and there are friends, expected and unexpected, who stand by you, ready to help."
