Characters from the kids TV show “Arthur” star in a new Arthur Family Health website, aiming to make topics such as food allergies, nutrition and fitness understandable for children.
Binky, for instance, has a peanut allergy, and his segment features printable activities and an interactive quiz. The segment on nutrition shows how Arthur, D.W., and their friends struggle to maintain a healthy diet and learn about healthy snacks.
“We’re not offering medical advice,” said Jillian Orr, digital producer for the Arthur Family Health website. “But what we’re offering is a way for parents to address health topics, whether mental health or physical health with their children.”
All the resources on the website, such as videos, games and background information, were reviewed by health experts from such medical institutions as Boston Children’s Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School.
