Bubble Palooza and color run coming to Long Island
Families can run through thousands of tiny, foamy bubbles during Bubble Palooza from 9 to 11 a.m. Aug. 25 at the Long Island Sports Park in Calverton.
“It’s a color run and a bubble run,” says sports park owner Dean Del Prete. Participants will be issued a white T-shirt to wear as well as a packet of color to toss on themselves or others. There will also be five bubble stations along the 3.2-mile course, and a “bubble bash” at the finale, Del Prete says.
The cost is $29 per person in advance and $39 day of the event. Children 6 and younger pay $4 only if parents choose to buy a bib and color bag. There’s a $10 per car parking fee. Event is rain or shine.
Long Island children's book author Tracé Wilkins Francis will be signing books and bringing characters Jo Jo Bean, Twisty Tina and Worry Wendell from her "The Real Life Adventures of Jo Jo Bean" series, Del Prete says.
The sports park is at 149 Edwards Ave. in Calverton. For more information, call 631-698-6230 or visit bubblepalooza.com.
