We read "Cartboy and the Time Capsule" by L.A. Campbell (Starscape Books). We liked this book for a lot of reasons:

No. 1: We thought it was very interesting because Hal, the main character, a sixth-grader, was given a writing assignment to make a journal about history that will be buried in the school's time capsule.

No. 2: The book gives useful information because Hal made milestones about things we use as humans.

No. 3: It was both funny and informational because Hal gave amusing examples about his life.

No. 4: It had great story elements. The setting was home and school. In the story, Hal really wanted a scooter and his parents decided to give him one.

Last reason: We liked the ending because after all that was done, Hal was pretty happy. It's a great book for kids around age 10.
