Disney's 'Incredibles 2' secrets: Fun facts you may not know
After waiting 14 years for the 'Incredibles' sequel, dedicated fans rushed to theaters its opening weekend. The highly anticipated 'Incredibles 2' broke box office records, earning $180 million in its first weekend and becoming the best animated debut of all time.
The sequel follows Helen (Holly Hunter), who accepts a mission to save the reputation of the Supers, while Bob (Craig T. Nelson) stays home to navigate life at home with their three kids. His role becomes trickier once baby Jack-Jack's (Eli Fucile) super powers are discovered.

Mood-changing clothing

It's not easy keeping up with three kids, especially when the toddler has newly discovered super powers. Bob understands this, so filmmakers designed his wardrobe to reflect his mood. The more tired he gets, the more grays and beiges he wears. The more energy he builds, the brighter his clothes become.
Lava mouth

It was a challenge to make a character who heaves lava appealing, so writer-director Brad Bird turned to a frog for design inspiration.
Sharp as a shark

While billionaire businessman Winston Deavor's drive and diligence resemble that of a shark's, so do his looks. His sharp edges are inspired by a shark's, and the slant on his forehead mirrors a shark's fin. His suit is also made of sharkskin.
Cat-inspired

Artists modeled a more laid back animal for Winston's intelligent sister's look. Evelyn was inspired by a confident, yet comfortable cat.
Super mansion fit for superheroes

The Parr family, whose house burned down at the end of the first movie, received a huge upgrade for their new house. Designers created a 38,000 square-foot mansion with extravagant architectural and water features, over-the-top gadgets and a floor that slides like a moving puzzle. The original design of the Parr home did make the cut; at the end of "Incredibles 2," a key character comes out of it.

Many members of the art team traveled to Palm Springs to find architectural inspiration for the buildings in "Incredibles 2." They were treated to tours of midcentury modern homes and were pleasantly surprised to see copies of the book, "The Art of The Incredibles," in many of the homes.
