Santa's arrival is fast approaching, and that likely means a brand new batch of toys for your little one.

If you're looking to make room in the toy box before Christmas, you can donate your child's gently-used plastic toys to Second Chance Toys, a non-profit dedicated to helping children in need and the environment.

Started in 2006 by then-high school student Sasha Lipton, Second Chance Toys has donated close to 150,000 toys to date -- keeping them out of landfills and sending them into the arms of children who really need them.

On Long Island, you can drop off toys at Kidville (250 South Service Rd., Roslyn Heights) now through Dec. 8.
