Friday is special in our school because we celebrate Family Fridays.
Have you ever heard of Family Friday? It is a great way for parents to spend time with their kids in school. We do arts and crafts and watch movies like “Minions,” “Nut Job,” “Scooby-Doo” and more. We do math papers, word searches and cut-and-paste art projects.
Sometimes our music teacher holds concerts so parents can watch their kid sing, dance and rap. Every year our fifth-graders do a musical, too. We also get to celebrate our birthday in the classroom on Family Friday.
The games we play are Uno, Trouble and more. The pizza parties are the best because you can enjoy your pizza and your juice with your friends. And Family Friday is a day your younger siblings get to work with you.
When Family Friday is over, you can leave a little early with your parents. Family Friday is every week, 1:30-2:25 p.m. This is only in our Grant Avenue school, but others might want to try it in their schools.
