Fire safety and more at Kids Safety Day in Manhasset

At the free 10th annual Kids Safety Day from 4 to 6 p.m. Oct. 4 in Manhasset, parents and kids can get child car seat safety checks and child safety ID kits, see fire department trucks and equipment demonstrations, and experience a hands-on demonstration of how to escape a smoke-filled house.
There’ll also be information on internet safety and bike safety.
The event is outdoors at Mary Jane Davies Green near 220 Plandome Rd., across the street from Town Hall. For more information, or in the event of rain, call 516-869-6311.
