Attention all second- and third-graders! Read this! We were fourth-graders, and today we are telling you the best part of fourth grade at Jericho Elementary or any school. Being in fourth grade means you have finished the primary years and are ready to start the intermediate grades.

These are our top 5 reasons to be excited for fourth grade.

1. You might get to learn facts about our past in detail, like the French and Indian War and the Revolutionary War. Learning about the past can be interesting and fun.

2. In fourth grade, you get better privileges — unlike the younger grades, you don’t need partners for the bathroom.

3.  In fourth grade, you get to do lots of fun projects and activities like making a brochure for the book “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe,” or maybe being part of Kidsday.

4. You might get to teach younger kids stuff by reading to them during reading buddies.

5. You might get to do some higher-level learning and reading. For example, you may learn long division, fractions and books like “The Chronicles of Narnia” and “Maniac Magee.”

No matter what school you may be going to, being in fourth grade is a change for the better. Bigger privileges mean you are growing up. We hope you have fun learning new math, fun projects and reading new books and being a school leader.
