Free outdoor movie nights at Smith Haven Mall

The Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove is hosting free outdoor movie nights this summer.
Mondays in August, the Movies Under the Stars event will show family-friendly movies on a big outdoor screen in the mall's Lifestyle Village. The movies begin at 8 p.m., but the event kicks off with a Kids Expo starting at 5 p.m.
Families are encouraged to bring their own chairs or blankets, as seating will be limited to benches and planters within Lifestyle Village. The August movie night schedule includes:
"Shrek" on Aug. 10: An ogre agrees to rescue a princess for a villainous lord in order to get his land back.
"Ice Age" on Aug. 17: Set during an ice age, a sabretooth tiger, a sloth and a woolly mammoth find a lost human infant and try to return him to his tribe.
"Puss in Boots" on Aug. 24: This journey chronicles the events leading up to the sword fighting cat's meeting with Shrek and his friends.
The Kids Expo will include free activities and giveaways, including a moon bounce and popcorn. There will also be complimentary child identification kits from New York Life, arts and crafts, face-painting and more. Additionally, there will be a coloring contest, drumming and food samples.
