Fire trucks, race cars and more at free LI Touch-A-Truck event

Fire trucks, construction equipment, race cars and more will be open to kids at the free Touch-A-Truck Long Island event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Walt Whitman Shops in Huntington Station. The first hour will be horn-free and siren-free.
Kids can touch and climb into the vehicles, says Jason Steinberg, director of marketing and promotion for Cox Media Group Long Island, which is producing the event. There’ll also be free moon bounces, a Suffolk County Police Department helicopter, costumed characters, pirate performances and food for sale.
Bring a nonperishable food item to donate to Long Island Cares. Rain date is Sunday.
