"Game Changer" by Tommy Greenwald Credit: Amulet Books
I read the book "Game Changer" by Tommy Greenwald (Amulet). This book is about a 13-year-old football player, Teddy Youngblood, who gets injured at football camp and ends up in a coma.
His parents, teammates and community try to figure out how he was so seriously hurt playing football. As they gather together to support him, some rumors start, and people begin to believe this wasn’t just an accident. Read the book to find out how one hit changes everything for this family, football team and community.
I think middle school students and those who love football would enjoy this realistic fiction book. It is a great story about how people come together in a time of need. I also enjoyed the style the author used and that much of the book is written in a text message style.
