We are doing community service at The Bristal assisted-living home in Lake Grove for our Silver Award for Girl Scouts. Our project matters because families who put their loved ones in a nursing home or assisted-living home should feel comfortable leaving them in an enjoyable environment. This project will help elders to not be lonely and have some fun while having a nonfamily member interacting with them and forming a friendship. The Silver Award will be sustainable by taking pictures of each resident performing an activity and placing the picture in a frame as a memorable token, as well as creating an online link for family members to view.

We are making a global connection by using a photo-friendly link that will allow families to view all pictures taken of their loved ones, and a scrapbook will be made and left at the assisted-living home.
