Two old-time favorite holiday movies for kids will be brought back to the big screen in the coming week.

At 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, “Home Alone 25th Anniversary,” starring Macaulay Culkin as the 8-year-old accidentally left behind when his family rushes off for Christmas vacation, will be playing at three theaters: the Farmingdale Multiplex Cinema, 1001 Broad Hollow Rd.; Stony Brook 17, 2196 Nesconset Hwy.; and Island 16 Cinema Deluxe, 185 Morris Ave. in Holtsville. Kids and parents can watch the two bumbling burglars who try to break in and Culkin’s ingenious booby traps that foil them. Tickets are $13.50 at Farmingdale and Holtsville and $12.50 at Stony Brook and are available at FathomEvents.com or at the door.

At 1 p.m. Sunday, “The Muppet Christmas Carol Movie” from 1992, in which everyone’s favorite frog learns the meaning of Christmas, will be shown at The Suffolk Theater, 118 E. Main St., Riverhead. It’s an adaptation of the original “Christmas Carol” story of Ebenezer Scrooge. Doors open at 11:30 a.m., when Santa will make an appearance. An a la carte menu will also be available. Don Duga, the original animator for “Frosty the Snowman” and a Long Island resident, will be doing illustrations. Tickets are $10 per adult, $5 per child 12 and younger, free for kids 2 and younger. They can be purchased at the door or in advance by calling 631-727-4343 or visit suffolktheater.com.
