In the fall, I ran in the Bubble Palooza. Bubble Palooza was a 5K (3.1 miles) run at Calverton Links in Calverton.

At the beginning of the race, runners threw brightly colored cornstarch on one another. People started the race with a rainbow of colors in their hair, on their faces and clothing. During the run there were bubble stations where runners had a blast playing in the piles of bubbles. It felt like I was in a gigantic bathtub filled with thousands of bubbles. There were five bubble stations throughout the race, one for each kilometer.

At the finish line there was a bubble maze, and everyone had smiles on their faces. It was a great day with lots of fun memories.

When my mom first signed me up, I wasn’t sure that I could complete a 5K. I found that running with family and friends helped me to be able to finish. Bubble Palooza was more of a fun run than a race. Now that I completed this one, I am looking forward to being part of other mud runs and color runs in the future.

The next Bubble Palooza happens in June. For more information: bubblepalooza.com
