Kenny Loggins signs holiday book in Huntington

Kenny Loggins is the latest singer to croon the famed holiday tune "Frosty the Snowman." His CD -- which includes two bonus folk-style songs, "Cyndi" and "Fishin' Blues" -- comes with the just-released eponymous children's picture book illustrating the lyrics (Imagine/Peter Yarrow, $17.95).
Newsday talked with Loggins about his visit next week to the Book Revue in Huntington, during which he will answer questions and sign books (he won't be singing):
I was asked by Peter Yarrow, whom I'd never met before. Peter, Paul and Mary was a big influence on me when I was a kid, coming from the folk music world. I also wanted to be part of the legacy of the song 'Frosty the Snowman.'
I have one I wrote myself, based on a song I wrote about the dog that I got when I moved out of my parental home. It's called 'Moose n' Me.'
My kids. My oldest is 33, and my youngest is 16. Because I have five kids, I've been immersed in children's books for many years.
