Cyberbullying is a problem that has been going on all over the country. These things happen on websites such as Facebook and Twitter. It is important to remember that bullying over the Internet can cause kids a lot of pain. Sometimes, kids say things that they don't mean or say things to act cool in front of their friends. These types of things can be very hurtful.

Before you post something or say something to someone or about someone, try to think how you would feel if that was said about you. If you think this way before you say something, you probably won't say it or post it. If you feel that you are being cyberbullied, you need to talk to someone, like a parent or a teacher. Lots of kids who type stuff on the computer think they are anonymous and they act all tough. Try to remember you are hurting others, and there is a chance you can be caught. No one is really anonymous on a computer.

Kidsday poll: Trading places

Many kids have dreams of what they want to be when they grow up. Common answers are an NBA star, an actress or a singer. We surveyed 100 middle-school students and asked them the following question: If you could trade places with your favorite athlete, singer or the president, which would you choose? Here are our results:

Favorite athlete...............................................42

Favorite singer................................................40

The president...................................................18

Many chose their favorite athlete because they wanted to be able to play in the big stadiums and be on TV. Kids who chose singer also liked being in the spotlight. They sing their songs anyway, so why not get paid for it, too? Not as many chose the president. They would want to change a few laws they felt were unfair, but those who chose another option didn't want the pressure of running our country.

'The Silver Dream' review

I read "The Silver Dream: An InterWorld Novel," by Neil Gaiman, Michael Reaves and Mallory Reaves (Harper Teen). Joey Harker and the InterWorld members are Walkers, people who can pass between different dimensions. They use this power to keep peace throughout the different worlds and stop the rivalry between the Binary and the HEX, who both want to control each and every world. But then the mysterious Acacia Jones follows Joey and his team from a mission to stop the Binary. And as Joey tries to figure out who she is and why she has followed him, he also has to fight to maintain the peace.
