Kidsday: Hot Wheels Monster Jam Grave Digger

We played with the Hot Wheels Monster Jam Grave Digger (Mattel). The hardest part was getting the toy out of the box. We needed an adult to help us, but after that it was just a lot of fun!

There were a lot of pieces, but it was easy to put it all together. It was cool how it shot the truck into the game's house and got the skeleton. There are five targets, and we got them all. The Hot Wheels were awesome. You get to kill the skeleton. We slammed it so hard, it slammed the house down! The monster truck went flying and hit the skeleton ghost, and it flew into another target, and even that went flying.

If you want to kill the ghost, you need to put the ramp where it can crash the whole thing. If you don't set the ramp up right, it will crash hard, but it won't cause enough damage to kill the skeleton ghost and crash the haunted house.

The toy costs about $24 and is worth it. We can't wait to play again.

A trike you'll like

When my 5-year-old sister, Ella, first saw Mattel's Big Wheel, she thought it was for babies. But when she rode it, she changed her mind. She thought it was fun and entertaining.

The tricycle is not just for babies -- it is for big kids, too. My friends and I rode it ourselves. You can make games out of it, or you can do what I did and ride it down your driveway. We liked how fast you can go and all the crazy turns you can make. It is totally worth it.

One of the games that you should try is spike. You put up obstacles and have your friend drive around them. You keep switching to see who can maneuver the tricycle the best without hitting the obstacles.

'Nancy Clancy' book review

"Nancy Clancy, Super Sleuth" Book 1 (Harper) is the first book in a new mystery series by Jane O'Connor. She wrote all the "Fancy Nancy" picture books, too.

It is a good book. I liked it. I really like the cover. It is a chapter book, but there are a lot of pictures, so it goes fast. Nancy's friend lost her ring, and they have to try to find it. The next day, Nancy's friend passed her a note that said, "I think you took the ring."

If you want to find out if Nancy is guilty, you'll have to read the book for yourself.
