Earlier this week, we went to 30 Rock offices in Manhattan to interview Grace Vanderwaal. Grace won “America’s Got Talent” last season. Grace is very talented. She plays the ukulele, saxophone and clarinet. Grace is known for her singing, song writing and ukulele playing.

We asked her some questions about herself. We think she is an amazing singer, and we found out that the first people who told her that she was a good singer were her mother, father and sister. She told us she was excited about her new EP album, “Perfectly Imperfect.”

Grace bought her pug, Frankie, with some of the money she earned. Frankie who is 4 months old, sat on her lap for most of our interview in the studios at NBC. She told us she is spending some of the money, and saving the rest. Grace told us that she has only been playing the ukulele for two years. Grace says that she doesn’t consider it practicing because then it would be work and not fun. Grace said that her friends were not jealous of her success. (We must admit we would have been!)

Grace said that dogs and llamas were her favorite animals, and that right now her favorite song to play is “Riptide,” by Vance Joy. Grace goes to school online and gets tutored instead of regular school.

Grace said she likes when people do her makeup and hair for her, but sometimes she will change it after they are done with her. Grace enjoys singing more than playing the ukulele. Believe it or not, Grace never made a music video.

Finally, we had to ask her about judge Howie Mandel pushing the Golden Buzzer on “America’s Got Talent.” She said that she expected him to push it because people were chanting “Golden! Golden” It was really nice and exciting to meet Grace!
