Review: 'A Dog's Way Home,' a great film for pet lovers

 We went to a screening of the new film, “A Dog’s Way Home.” This movie is great! It's about a puppy growing up. As she grows up, she goes through really hard times. As a puppy, Bella finds her owner, Lucas,  played by Jonah Hauer-King, a young man who takes her home as a stray. Bella becomes separated from Lucas, and then finds herself on a giant journey to find him. Bella is an amazing dog, she is very strong and courageous. Bella went through very hard and long days. She also had to make some very hard decisions.     

Our favorite character is Bella hands down. We all thought she was fearless, caring, loving, cute, strong and courageous. The voice of Bella was done by actress Bryce Dallas Howard. The adult version of Bella is played by Shelby, and when we researched the actors we found that Bella was a rescue dog too. She was found living in a junkyard in Tennessee, which is very similar to Bella’s story.

This movie had us experiencing every emotion. One minute we were sad and the next we were happy. Some of the action scenes were very stressful.

We loved when Lucas played all types of fun games with Bella, and just did so many great bonding things with each other. We also loved when the military veterans stuck up for Bella. They all loved her, so the protected her, and kept her safe. Lastly, we really liked when Bella met all the animals along her journey. She helped them, and they helped her. They worked together to find safe places to stay.  

We gave this movie a perfect 5 – no doubt about it! The movie is a family film. We feel that this is a good movie for ages 10 and older. We think kids younger than 10 might not understand some of the things, and there are some very emotional parts and some scary parts. We loved all of the scenes where Bella interacted with other animals and people. This is a dog, cat, family, people movie.
