The second annual Mpower event, a half-day gathering of girls in fourth through eighth grade and their moms, is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 11, at LIU Post’s Hillwood Commons on Northern Boulevard in Brookville.

The event, which sold out last year with 350 attendees, offers keynote speakers for kids and parents as well as separate workshop choices such as communicating with your tween for parents and nutrition education for girls, organizers say.

“The day is really about inspiring and educating young girls and their moms,” says co-founder Cami Gallagher, 38, of Huntington, who launched the event with fellow mom Emma Brandt, 40, also of Huntington.

Tickets are $50 per person and include breakfast and a box lunch. Register in advance at amightylass.com.
