Museum of Math to open Dec. 15

Save the date -- Saturday, Dec. 15 will be the public opening of Manhattan’s Museum of Mathematics, the dream of three Long Island parents who wanted to get kids more interested in math by showing how it relates to sports, art and nature.
“I am thrilled that we have an opening date,” says Cindy Lawrence of Port Jefferson, who is the museum’s associate director and has been working on the exhibits for three years. “I’m looking forward to opening day, and to seeing kids and adults alike discover the surprising beauty and fun of mathematics.”
The museum -- which will be known as "Mo Math" for short -- is at 11 E. 26th St., between Fifth and Madison, and it’ll house 45 interactive exhibits targeted to fourth to eighth graders. Target admission price will be about $15 for adults and $9 for children.
