Nominate grandparents to be crowned 'Savvy Senior'

Kids can nominate grandma or grandpa as the 2015 Savvy Senior King or Queen through Monday. All nominated seniors and their families will be invited to the sixth annual Savvy Senior Day on Sept. 20 at the Parker Jewish Institute in New Hyde Park, when the royalty will be crowned.
Savvy Senior Day is held each year by Long Island's Association of Generational Experts for Seniors, or AGES, a senior advocacy and resource group, to provide a day when families can recognize their seniors for the accomplishments they've made. A savvy senior is defined by the association as one who doesn't let age define them or dictate what they can or can't do and who has made or continues to make an impact within their communities.

The King and Queen receive gift certificates for professional studio oil portrait painting, compliments of Bradford Renaissance Portraits. The festivities will include food and music provided by a DJ.
