'Oliver and the Seawigs' book review: Good for ages 8-12

I read the book "Oliver and the Seawigs" by Philip Reeve and Sarah McIntyre (Random House). It is about a boy named Oliver, whose parents are lost at sea. Along the way, he meets a nearsighted mermaid, moving and talking islands that wear wigs, and an army of monkeys. Kids ages 8-12 would possibly enjoy this book the most. Personally, I think this book was OK.

Kids who enjoy fiction would enjoy this book more than I did. This book also includes pictures. I hope you read this book and the other books in this new series. "Oliver and the Seawigs" is part of a series called "Not-So-Impossible Tales." The next book in this series is "Cakes in Space."
