Pal-O-Mine is a farm in Islandia that offers therapeutic experiences with horses for many different people. The therapy can include riding the horses or just interacting with them in a structured and supervised way. I have been participating at Pal-O-Mine to learn about the horses for the past two years.
Last spring, I joined the St. Patrick School Riding Club and actually began learning how to ride. I also participated in Pal-O-Mine’s summer work-study program where I learned more about the horses and also how the 8-acre farm operates.
I enjoyed Pal-O-Mine very much and think it is awesome to ride a horse. The summer was a great experience, but I admit that I enjoyed going back to school not only to see my friends but also to participate again in the Riding Club. With all I learned and did during the summer, it made riding even more fun.
