Apple and pumpkin picking are fun to the core

What’s a great thing to do in fall? Apple and pumpkin picking. There are many farms on Long Island, where I live, where you can pick apples and pumpkins. Most people are done with this activity by Halloween, but I think you should still make a run to local farmstands to prepare for Thanksgiving.
Pumpkin picking is a great way to spend a day in fall. It’s also a great way to support local farms. Sometimes at places you can pick pumpkins there are other things to do. There might be a corn maze or a hay ride. There are all types of pumpkins to pick — big pumpkins, small pumpkins, tall pumpkins, flat pumpkins, any type of pumpkin. After you get your pumpkin you can make a jack-o'-lantern or a pumpkin pie.
Apple picking is also a fun activity. There are so many types of apples — sweet apples, sour apples, yellow apples and red apples. Apple picking is also quite fun. It’s also a way to support local farms. After you get home you can do so many things with the apples. You could just eat the apples, but how boring is that. You could make an apple pie or play a game of apple bobbing.
