Pleygo.com lets parents 'borrow' Lego kits for kids

Does it pain you to buy your child a Lego set that he puts together once before asking you to buy him another? You may want to check out a new Netflix-like service called Pleygo.com. For a monthly fee, it lets kids put together a kit and return it to receive another one.
Elina Furman Landauer started the service in May 2013. The Westchester mom was inspired by her son Julian, 5. “He had been going through sets left and right, and they’re not cheap,” she says. She wanted to encourage his constructive passion because she wanted him to be away from the screen and TV. She thought, “There has to be a more efficient, more affordable way for kids to reuse these sets. Finally I came up with this idea.”
She brought in investors to help set up warehouse, distribution and shipping, and she handles the marketing. A standard plan is $25 a month. Parents can create a queue for their wish list and the next set on the list will be sent each time they return one.
