Zabo Circus coming to Samanea NY this weekend
A pop-up circus experience is bringing jugglers, magicians, illusionists and aerial acts to Westbury this weekend for two days of fun.
Zabo Circus will take over the second floor of Samanea NY (near The Cheesecake Factory) on July 30 at 7 p.m. and July 31 at 3 p.m. During each 90-minute show, goers will see live performances by artists who’ve toured with big timers like the Big Apple Circus, Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey and Cirque Du Soleil.
Off-Broadway headliner and co-owner of Zabo, Miles Thorn, is one of the magicians and illusionists participating in the event. He’s also a daredevil escape artist, meaning he “escapes from different situations, such as being locked in a straitjacket or an iron tank of water” in a way that keeps the “audience on edge,” he says.
Andrew “Zabo” Liebman, founder of the circus, will be the show’s juggler, stilt walker and balance artist, who can balance items like ladders, tables and chairs on his chin.
There will be an intermission when cotton candy, popcorn and boxed candy, plus beverages, can be enjoyed.
